Edge Protection Scaffolding
What is Edge Protection Scaffolding?
Edge protection scaffolding is a temporary safety barrier system installed along the open edges of roofs, elevated slabs, mezzanines, or scaffolding platforms. Its primary purpose is to prevent workers, materials, and tools from falling from height, ensuring full compliance with current Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations and safeguarding everyone on site.
Our edge protection systems are versatile and can be adapted for:
• Roof edges during re-roofing or repairs
• Open-sided floors and slabs on new builds
• Perimeter protection for scaffolding platforms
• Temporary barriers for maintenance works
Protecting Your Workforce and Site Visitors
Compliant with Latest Safety Standards
All of our edge protection scaffolding solutions are installed to meet BS EN 13374 standards for temporary edge protection systems. This guarantees that the installation has been engineered to protect against falls and falling materials effectively, giving site managers and contractors confidence in the safety of their workforce.
We also ensure all installations comply with TG20:21 guidance and are carried out by CISRS-certified scaffolders who have years of hands-on industry experience.
Flexible Systems for Every Project
At Glencross Scaffolding, we understand that every site presents unique challenges. Our edge protection scaffolding is available in a variety of configurations, including:
• Fixed edge protection – ideal for long-term projects requiring robust, static safety barriers.
• Freestanding edge protection – useful where no fixings can be made to the roof or slab.
• Cantilever edge protection – perfect for projects requiring barriers beyond the edge line, particularly on re-roofing works.
• Our team will advise on the most suitable option, taking into consideration roof pitch, structure type, and site accessibility.
