Monkeyshu Footwear Scaffolding Shirley

Glencross Scaffolding supplied and erected a secure roof access scaffold for MonkeyShu Footwear on Stratford Road in Shirley. The project involved providing safe access to the upper levels of a mixed-use retail and residential property, enabling roof repairs to be carried out efficiently and safely.

Due to the building’s high street location and footfall, our team coordinated closely with the local council to obtain the required pavement permit. This is known as a Scaffolding and Hoarding Licence, which must be obtained from the local council before any work starts. This allowed us to position the scaffold partially on the public footpath while maintaining clear pedestrian access and compliance with all health and safety regulations. The scaffold was fitted with protective padding, high-visibility markers, and warning signage to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.

The installation provided roofers with stable working platforms across the full width of the property, while still allowing the business to operate as normal. Once repairs were complete, the scaffold was dismantled promptly with minimal disruption to surrounding shops and pedestrians.
