• Birdcage scaffolds for internal works
• Edge protection and handrails

Scaffolding FAQ’s
1. Do I need scaffolding for every roofing or building job?
Not always. Smaller jobs at low level may be safely carried out from ladders or mobile towers, depending on the risk assessment. However, for most roof replacements, extensions, chimney work and multi-storey projects, scaffolding is usually the safest and most compliant option. We’ll advise you on what’s required once we know more about your project.
2. How much does scaffolding cost?
Scaffolding costs depend on several factors: the size and height of the building, the complexity of the access, how long the scaffold is needed and any extras such as loading bays or stair towers. We provide quotes on a project-by-project basis, so you only pay for what you actually need.
3. How long can I keep the scaffolding up for?
Your quote will usually include a standard hire period, with the option to extend if your project overruns. As long as the scaffold is inspected regularly and remains safe, it can stay in place for as long as you require. If timings change, just let us know and we’ll work with you.
4. Who is responsible for scaffold inspections?
Scaffolding must be inspected by a competent person after installation, at least every seven days, and after exceptional events such as high winds or impacts. We can carry out inspections as part of our service or agree responsibilities with your principal contractor, depending on how the project is set up.
5. Do I need a licence for scaffolding on a pavement or road?
Yes. If scaffolding encroaches onto a public pavement or highway, a licence is normally required from the local council and additional measures such as hoarding, fans or lighting may be needed. We can advise on this and, in many cases, help arrange the necessary permissions before work starts.
6. Can you provide scaffolding for both domestic and commercial projects?
Yes. We work with homeowners, small builders, roofers and large contractors on everything from small repairs to full refurbishments and new-build developments. Our team is experienced in planning and managing access on live sites, busy streets and occupied properties.
7. How far in advance should I book scaffolding?
The more notice you can give, the better – especially during busy periods. For most projects, getting in touch a few weeks before your planned start date allows us to survey the site, design the scaffold and schedule our team. If you have an urgent job, contact us and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
